PRESS RELEASE
How To Behave So Your Children Will, Too!, written by Valley psychologist Dr. Sal Severe, has won a 1997 Glyph Award from the Arizona Book Publishing Association, recognizing excellence in publishing. The Glyph name denotes the first written symbols that were used to tell a story. The Glyph symbol is a stulized representation of a seven-rayed star or sun that represents talents and the ability to develop them. How To Behave So Your Children Will, Too!, which helps parents understand that their children's behavior is often a reflection of their own behavior, is published by Greentree Publishing in Tempe. The hardcover book sells for $21.95 and is available at Valley bookstores or by calling 1-800-866-5208. According to Severe, the success of the book can be traced to the millions of parents who are looking for a better way of dealing with their children. "Many parents don't realize that in order to get their children to behave, they need to look at the example they set first," Severe said. "And good parenting skills translate into sound human relations skills that can improve lives at home and work." In addition to writing his popular book, Severe is Chairperson of the Psychological Services Department for the Cartwright School District in Phoenix and serves as President of the Arizona Association of School Psychologists.
