PRESS RELEASE
Rare double feature How To Behave So Your Children Will, Too, written by Phoenix psychologist Dr. Sal Severe, has been named as the featured selection by both Book-of-the-Month Club and Children's Book-of-the-Month Club for August. Book-of-the-Month Club's in-house editors choose the 500 alternate titles the club offers each year from more than 10,000 manuscripts. Greg Tobin, vice president and editor-in-chief for the New York-based Book-of-the-Month Club, said being the featured selection by both book clubs simultaneously is unusual. "The popularity of How To Behave So Your Children Will, Too continues to grow," Tobin said. "There is a definite demand for this book and we are happy to be able to make it available to parents throughout the United States and Canada.." How To Behave So Your Children Will, Too helps parents understand that their children's behavior is often a reflection of their own behavior. It is published by Greentree Publishing of Tempe. According to Severe, the success of this book can be traced to the millions of parents who are looking for a better way of dealing with their children. "Many parents don't realize that in order to get their children to behave, they need to look at the example they set first," Severe said. "And good parenting skills translate into sound human relations skills that can improve lives at home and work." Severe says parenting requires countless sacrifices and continuous hard work, but the rewards are plenty. To be successful parents, he offers these tips:
In addition to writing his popular book, Severe is chairperson of the Psychological Services Department for the Cartwright School District in Phoenix and serves as president of the Arizona Association of School Psychologists. Cumulative membership in the Book-of-the-Month Club, Inc., made up of 9 clubs, is more than 3.5 million. Last year the company distributed 40 million books, cd's and videocassettes to members in the United States and more than 60 countries.
